Sinharaja Rainforest

Sinharaja Rainforest Reserve has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site due to it’s magnificent biodiversity. Like so much of Sri Lanka – it is home to endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.

Thanks to it’s remote location, it was spared from eco-disasters like commercial logging. The reserve is 21 km long and 7 km wide and covers an area of 8,893 hectares.
