Round Tour - 5 Days

Day One

We start our tour at the Airport or Negambo Hotel, depending on your flight arrangements. From there we visit the Dambulla Temple, and then on to Sigiriya. We’ll enjoy some good local cooking in one of the many well recommended restaurants and also spend the night in Sigiriya.

Dambulla cave temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World  Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country. This site is situated 148 km east of Colombo and 72 km  north of Kandy. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. This temple complex dates back to the first century BCE. There are more than 80 documented caves in  the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues  are related to Lord Buddha and his life. There are total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of  gods and goddesses.

Day Two

We begin the morning by checking out Sigiriya Rock, from here we venture on to the Polonnaruwa Spice Garden and Silk Shop. After this we go to Kandy Dalada Maligawa and enjoy some traditional Sri Lankan cultural dancing. We’ll also stay night in Kandy.

Sigiriya (Lion Rock, Sinhala: සීගිරිය, pronounced see-gee-REE-yah) is located in the central Matale District of the Central Province, Sri Lanka in an area dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa the site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital.

Day Three

We can enjoy the morning in Kandy, taking in the many cultural sights and sounds. From here we journey to Ella, the heart of the tea country. In Ella we can enjoy the majestic waterfalls and also visit one of the tea factories. After this, we take the train to Nuwara Eliya, this picturesque journey takes about 3 hours to have a look at Little Adam’s Peak. After that we head back to Ella for the evening

Day Four

Head to Yala for a safari and then on to Unawatuna, make sure you pack a camera, because there are plenty of animals to see! We’ll stop for lunch in Tangalle before heading on to the Dewndara Light House. From here we go to Mirissa Beach and Unawatuna Beach, where you can either surf or just relax and enjoy the tropical paradise. Stay the night in Unawatuna beach area.

Day Five

We finish our tour with a comprehensive city tour of Galle and the Galle Fort. From here we take the express highway back to Katunayake Airport.

Galle fort in Sri Lanka is a prime Dutch colonial time city in Asia.
